Our Ministries

Altar Guild

Dedicated ladies of the church organize themselves into teams to prepare the sanctuary for worship services. Some of these activities include setting up communion, changing paraments, and washing communion vessels after services. This unseen ministry is vital to the worship life of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Service on altar guild is highly valued, and its members are greatly appreciated. It is also a good way to meet new people and to become familiar with the congregation.

Christian Education

Christian Education is a priority at St. Luke's Lutheran Church.  We offer "Genuinely Lutheran" curricula in our Sunday School, Wednesday Night Live forums, men's and ladies' Bible studies, confirmation classes, and Vacation Bible School.  People believe what they know, and St. Luke's endeavors to help people know what they believe.

Children

Our children's Sunday School offers St. Luke's own "Genuinely Lutheran" curriculum from age three to grade six.  Our Nursery is professionally staffed and welcomes children during worship services.  Vacation Bible School is offered each summer.  Check back for the week and times.

Library

Looking for a good read?  Need one of pastor's publications to cure your insomnia? Our Hannah Pfister Memorial Library located next to the church office is stocked with stacks of books and media resources. Don't delay, borrow something today.

Men's Bible Study

Men's Saturday Morning Study - 7:00 am in the Classroom 7 -Real men study Scripture but not all of them so early on Saturdays!

Music

Our music program is led by Sue Caldwell, one of the most talented musicians in the history of St. Luke's.  Sue's musical gifts pervade our congregation's extraordinary efforts to provide meaningful worship of God in a Lutheran setting.  This ministry is set to expand and is seeking other talented vocal and instrumental musicians to complement our current music ministry.

Mutual Ministry

Our Mutual Ministry is being reevaluated, but generally concerns the care and oversight of the congregation's spiritual needs for coordinated, harmonious service to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Women of the ELCA (WELCA)

The ladies of St. Luke's (WELCA) provide Bible study groups called "Circles."  Check the Activities page for days and times.  WELCA also sponsors study days, mission events, and service projects.  Join our ladies to make new friends, to share experiences, to use your spiritual gifts, and to have your faith nurtured and renewed spirituality.

Youth

St. Luke's Youth (SLY), led by Andy Killion, meets weekly at various times throughout the year (see Activities page). Confirmation classes (grades seven and eight) are offered by request.

Our youth ministry encourages our youth and continually seeks to involve the young people of our church and community in a variety of Christian activities. Our youth view themselves as mission and service oriented, bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ beyond our church to our community as needed or requested.
